Marisha Childs is excited to officially announce her candidacy for Multnomah County Commissioner, District 1.
Marisha has spent a majority of her life in Oregon, most of that in Multnomah County. From having grown up in Troutdale, to attending college at Oregon Institute of Technology to graduating from the University of Oregon School of Law, and now living in District 1 for the past 11 years, Marisha – like many long-term community members - has seen many changes occur in Multnomah County, but has visions of something better. Marisha is a lawyer, small business owner, mom engaged in her children’s school, and runner.
Marisha has served as an active member of the Reed Neighborhood Association for four years and has served as Chair for the past two; serves as the Legislative Advocate and a member of Cultural Enrichment Committee for the Winterhaven Parent-Teacher-Student Association; and is a board member of Oregon NOW.
As an attorney who has worked with our most vulnerable populations, including both youth in dependency proceedings and seniors with finding care and housing solutions, Marisha has great compassion and brings a unique perspective to the issues these populations face.
Marisha is focused on three primary issue areas with Multnomah County:
Marisha has been actively campaigning and is ready to go the distance for Multnomah County. Marisha looks forward to engaging with more community members not only in District 1, but in all of Multnomah County.
