Big Brothers Big Sisters of Puget Sound Names New President and CEO

SEATTLE, WA – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Puget Sound (BBBSPS) Monday introduced Alonda Williams as their new President and CEO of the organization.

Once a Big Sister, always a Big Sister

Williams holds a personal commitment to youth development and is passionate about service and making a positive impact in the community. She has a demonstrated history of building great teams and equitable organizations, while being a motivating and principled leader. Williams has also been a Big Sister through BBBS, so has witnessed first-hand the importance of lifting up and empowering the next generation to reach their full potential.

“I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to lead this amazing organization at such a pivotal time in our region,” said Williams. “Now more than ever, young people need the support and guidance of caring mentors. I am deeply committed to removing barriers and ensuring that all young people can reach their fullest potential. Together with the BBBSPS community of staff, volunteers, and partners, we will work earnestly toward a future where all youth can thrive.”

Previously with the YMCA of Greater Seattle, Microsoft and other technology companies, Williams has deep experience in running organizations and driving systems change. Williams is also a published author of the children’s book series, Penny and the Magic Puffballs.

“Mentoring helps youth succeed in school, build self-confidence, effectively handle their emotions, develop positive relationships, and avoid risky behavior like violence and substance abuse,” said BBBSPS Board Chair, Maurice James. “We are so excited to have Alonda join our committed associates at BBBSPS in propelling the organization forward and creating an even more just, equitable, diverse and inclusive organization for all youth, families, volunteers and partners in our community.”
