If you aren't registered to vote for this November's election, you have until Tuesday Oct. 16 to do so. All voter registration cards postmarked by the 16th will be accepted as valid for the November election.
Voter registration forms are available online at the Oregon Secretary of State's Web site at www.sos.state.or.us/elections, as well as U.S. Post Offices, libraries and other government offices.
This November's election will have two measures that will affect the landscape and people of Oregon. Measure 49 will modify Measure 37, clarifying people's right to build homes, but limiting large subdivisions on open land. It will also help protect ground water, farms and forests. Measure 50 would dedicate funds to pay for children's health care through a tobacco tax. Voter guides are available online at the Secretary of State's Web site and public libraries.
