Reginald McPherson was born on May 15, 1954 to Elmer McPherson and Josephine Richardson. He died on Feb. 6.
Mr. McPherson completed elementary and high school in Portland, graduating from Jefferson High School. After graduating, he worked at a variety of jobs.
He enjoyed horseback riding, swimming, walking and socializing with his family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, Africa McPherson; a son, Reginald McPherson Jr.; sisters ReginaMcPherson,Janice Clay (Kenny) and Relindo Reed; a brother, Frederick Reed(Heidi); grandchildren: Antoinette, De'Oshaand De'AndreMcDonald,and Regneil Michael McPherson.
Robert Benjamin "Sleepy" Williams Jr. was born to Robert Benjamin Sr. and Mary Etta Williams on Jan. 20, 1916 in LeCompte, La. He died on Feb. 4 at the age of 90.
He met and married Elizabeth Roberson in 1936. Soon after, they moved to Portland. To this union four children were born: Donnie, Rose, Howard and Richard. Mr. Williams gave his life to the Lord at the age of 40 and was a member of First AME Zion Church. He married a second time, in 1977, to Althea. He had many talents, including painting houses, detailing cars and landscaping, and he maintained a deep love for music.
His wife, Elizabeth, and two sons preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Althea; two daughters, Donnie and Rose; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
